About

I'm Rick Vega — a film photographer and writer who has spent the last several years pointing a camera at the streets of Mexico City.

I shoot black & white, almost always on 35mm film, and develop most of it at home in a converted bathroom that smells faintly of fixer. I'm drawn to the in-between moments — the pause before a light changes, a face half-turned, chrome catching the last of the afternoon.

Alongside the photographs I write about the craft: the chemistry, the gear, the long walks, and the small disciplines that make a frame worth keeping. Some of that lives here; some of it goes out in my newsletter.

If something here resonates — a print, a collection, or just a question about film — I'd love to hear from you.
